P1 in round 7 and P2 in round 8!
I should be happy with it considering the previous round at Fuji Speedway was a total disaster.
My team worked really hard and my pace was much better both on dry and wet.
I got pole position for round 7 with a huge gap, but round 8 qualifying ended up with P5 due to an unlucky red flag.
Round 7 race started with heavy rain under SC.
Unfortunately the track condition didn’t get any better and finished under SC.
It was a bit frustrating but I was relieved that nobody got injured under such a dangerous condition.
Round 8 started with a clear view of Mt. Fuji.
Starting from 5th position in PCCJ is quite difficult because overtaking is really hard even at Fuji.
So I was concentrated in start and it went well, then pushed hard and got 2nd position, challenging the top until the final corner.
Of course I wanted to win the race, but I’m very happy with the big progress after the difficult week here at Fuji.
I appreciate the hard work of the team, and feel grateful to everyone who came over to Fuji to see my race.
