The Japanese Karting Championship finally took place at Twin Ring Motegi North Short Course on July 25th – 26th 2020 after a long halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ryota Horachi, who had been nominated to the EXGEL World Challenge 2020 and participated in the South Garda Winter Cup, made his debut in the national championship with great supports from K.SPEED WIN.
In unstable weather conditions, Ryota made a great start of the season with 3rd position.
The talented driver supported by EXGEL Motorsport aims to be the champion of the season following Yuto Nomura who dominated the championship.
I made a good start in the final race of the opening round and moved up to 3rd position, then kept trying to overtake the driver in front, however I couldn’t catch the 2nd position driver.
In the last few laps my pace was good and set the fastest lap, but I finished 3rd even though I pushed hard.
If only I could move up to 2nd in early laps, I think I could catch up the 1st driver because I had the pace to compete.
I learned a lot in this round and will do my best to win in the next one.
